You two have obviously traveled SOUTH! Hot sauce for breakfast. Gaudy parrots. Ancient Indian ruins. I’d say southern Iowa, maybe as far south as the Ozarks!
I would have never guessed that as I don’t believe I’ve ever heard of Xcaret. I know, of course, that you could write books about things and places I’ve never heard about, but….
Great post 😁

Hm, my guess would be a little further south than the Ozarks, say Guatemala?

Getting very close. The next clue was going to be that mariachis just showed up poolside and serenaded us.

Ballroom here is called OX, and not because there is a big bull at the entrance. It means “three” in another language.

Xcaret. Between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. About an hour south of Cancun and can see Cozumel from our balcony!!

Not sure of the spelling, but the ruins look like Chichen Itza, which is a moderately long bus ride from Cancun. (We were there about 20 years ago.)

Actually it’s Coba, the largest Mayan pyramid in Yucatan, second largest in the world. About an hour from Xcaret
