Easter Candy Impulse

Oh no! I stopped by the grocery store last night to pick up something quick and was confronted by a HUGE display of Cadbury chocolate eggs.  Not just any run-of-the-mill Easter candy, but my nemesis, the Cadbury egg.  I don’t know why I like these, but I really do.

How do I keep myself from temptation for the next six weeks?

    1. I think she means the chocolate ones with the creamy filling. I would advise to get the mini ones and treat yourself to one every other day.

  1. Here’s an idea. Decide how many you will allow yourself to eat in the next six weeks. Then, write a check to 45’s reelection campaign. Tell YA to mail it if you go over your limit or purchase more.

  2. As far as I know, there are no addictive candies associated with May Day, Flag Day or the 4th of July. If you just stay away from the grocery store for six weeks, you’ll be home free.

        1. Negative brainstorming is so gleefully untethered compared to actually coming up with benefits. Just ask the Republicans.

  3. Last year with the mini-eggs: I had a bunch of tiny zip-lock bags but you could use something else, I’m sure. I put maybe half a dozen (whatever you decide) in each bag, put them somewhere that’s not TOO easy to get to, and rationed myself a certain amount each day. Some days were one-bag days, some days more…

  4. I know it’s been asked a couple times about Blevins in April… sorry, this isn’t a good time to be in the travel industry and I’ve been a little overwhelmed. Anyway, here we go:

    April 26
    Occasional Caroline’s (new address!)
    2 p.m.

All the Light We Cannot See (Anthony Doerr)
    &
    His Majesty’s Dragon (Naomi Novik)

  5. I MUST REMEMBER

    I must remember…
    Turkey on Thanksgiving,
    Pudding on Christmas,
    Eggs on Easter,
    Chicken on Sunday,
    Fish on Friday,
    Leftovers, Monday,
But ah, me—I’m such a dunce.
I went and ate them all at once.
