Sunday is a lovely day to have off.
I’m taking a break and I recommend that you take it easy too.
And if you can spend some time with your Dad, you should!
Here’s one of my favorite songs written by a son for his father. I don’t have a radio
station to play it on, but I’ve got the next best thing – a You Tube link with no video!
This is what TV was like back in the days when everybody had to use their imagination, kids!
It’s the audio of Steve Goodman singing “My Old Man”.
Happy Fathers’ Day, Dale! thanks for the cool link. my Dad died 39 years ago but if he were alive today we’d go fishing, talk, eat summer sausage sandwiches and Mounds or Almond Joys, and drink coffee from the thermos. probably catch no fish. hope your day is as enjoyable for you as those days were for him (and me).

This is my first Father’s Day without my dad. A little melancholy. With grandkids for him to watch, and his increasing infirmities, we often did a picnic somewhere familiar so he could watch the kids run and not have to do too much walking (or remembering where he was). This year we’re at my brother’s house because I managed to break my toe, so no adventuring for our family just yet.
Happy Father’s Day all!

Thanks to both. Toe will get better by and by. Heart may take a little longer (there is comfort in knowing that the end was good, even if it was sad).

Happy Fathers’ Day, Dale. Any day is a lovely day to have off — provided there are no repercussions π

thinking about my daughter’s dad who died a bit over 6 yrs ago; he missed so much with his grandsons and they with him, but we talk about grandpa john often

Thanks, Dale. My dad lived until 94, but I still miss his wide, dentured smile, his kiss on my cheek and his “I love you, Maregirl.” Oh, Dads out there, if you only knew how everlasting you were…

So sweet to see little Rhonda on her papa’s back. I’m glad Blevins stayed around for Father’s Day.

Oh, this always makes me cry. My dad is also gone and I miss him so much. Also my first husband, the father of my children is gone. So the day passed without much notice. But they were true, wonderful men who made my life much richer.

sounds like the day passed without much comment rather than without much notice. there is a difference. celebrate the memory. what a gift.
