Last week I had an “aspiration” done; technically I should probably say “aspirations” since I had the procedure done on both my knees. Since it creeped me out when it was described to me, I shan’t describe it here.
Since the description was creepy and I’ve been dealing with these knee issues since the beginning of August, I had more than my usual anxiety when I settled into bed the night before. At about 3 a.m. I was dreaming about getting my teeth cleaned (note – I’m not crazy about this procedure either). In the dream, after the hygienist has done the top teeth, she informed me that they would be anesthetizing me to do the bottom half. When I expressed alarm, more dentists and technicians came in to hold me down. I continued to struggle and they told me I was making my blood pressure too high which was why they had to put me under. It was at this point that I woke up.
I don’t normally remember my dreams when I wake up, but this one wouldn’t leave me and every time I started to drift back to sleep, I’d be back in the dentist’s chair. At 4:30, I just got up, turned on the lights and got started on my morning puzzles.
Of course, the aspiration was nothing to be anxious about. With the short exception of the cortisone shots at the end, it wasn’t painful and was interesting to watch on the screen while the doctor was working. I was able to walk out and drive home. So that scary dream was really unwarranted. Wish I could have explained this to my subconscious at bedtime!
Are you aspiring to anything in particular this week?
I would like to feel and understand the book I am writing as if I were someone with no stake in the decision as to whether or not the author has succeeded in telling a good story.

Well, if you can figure that out, you can bottle it and make a large fortune, selling it to all the other authors on the planet!!

I hope to answer and clear our all my email inbox, correspond with a couple of relatives, get a few things checked off the to-do list.
And I would like to find time to read this week. It’s been a while since I let myself get involved in a good novel. We’ll see.

I’m still doing a very small to do list every day. Of course I didn’t realize it was gonna rain this morning so two of my items are automatically crossed off because they required dry weather. I guess my aspirations for the day or quite small.

I aspire to rest, tape moving boxes so they can be filled, and pack things.

Husband wants to pull up the tomatoes and clear the veggie garden. It is raining here, too, so he may have to change his plans.

That was one of the things on my list that got canceled.

I looked at the weather for southern MN this morning and noticed that it’s raining and that rain is forecasted for much of the rest of the week! Rain is really needed in northern MN. One weather guy said there is an 8-inch rain deficit up here. There was a little rain here the night before last. Apparently it was enough to help the firefighters increase their containment of the Crosby fire near my favorite state park, George Crosby Manitou.
My only aspiration this week is to immediately pay off the mortgage I had to take to buy my new place. The buyers sign the closing documents on Friday. The proceeds will be transferred to me, and I can pay off the loan as soon as the funds appear in my account. Then I will be able to say that my move is complete!

We will be in the same situation as you next week, as we close on our ND house next week Friday!

Rise and Shine, Baboons,
Yesterday I cleaned the bathroom, a task sorely needed, so my primary aspiration for the week is in the rear view mirror. Yeah! I am now doing my own cleaning for the first time in decades, now that the hip surgery left me pain free and energized. Otherwise, I aspire to puppy play and socializing him. Right now he is pulling on an afghan because I am typing instead of tending to his need to play.
Now I have a few chores to do through the week: find a rubber ramp for the porch door and take some of Lou’s Dixieland music to a band in Minneapolis. They can use it. It found this music scattered throughout the house, in various closets. One folder was in the garage. Why? I do not know.
Saturday I will protest, so I will improve my protest sign. I aspire to a true Democracy.

Back before Covid I applied for a passport. I don’t quite recall if it was a question on the form or the lady asked me directly,
where I was traveling to. I told her I had aspirations of traveling…
I’m still aspiring to finish all the repairs on my one tractor. Tonight in the shop I made some more progress on it!

I have some tax return issues I am trying to resolve by tomorrow. Not my tax return – that’s done – but clients that I think of as rescues. They are people who have thorny issues that they haven’t wanted to deal with. They filed extensions in the spring and now, just before those returns come due, they want to be rescued.

I have a return for a dog breeder, and had the novel experience of entering two assets for the business – “Female Boston terrier – Jasmine” and “Female Boston terrier – Poppy”. Their depreciation schedule is seven years – the anticipated breeding life of a canine asset, apparently.
