Where in the World is VS?

VS is out of town today.

  • Founded in 1926 by William Danforth
  • Covers over 300 acres
  • As a working research campus, the first commercially produced dry dog food was developed here
  • The Visitor Center here has education exhibits, wagon rides, a hayloft play area and hands-on animal encounters with chicks, lambs, bunnies and cows (milking).
  • Dogs are welcome here if vaccinated, leashed and well-socialized.

Any thoughts about where she might be?

  1. The Purina Farms is in Gray Summit, Missouri, which is outside of the city. But ding ding ding ding. Freya is not with me, this is a solo trip.

  2. Maggie eats Purina HA Hydrolyzed Protein kibble. It’s the only thing that doesn’t give her diarrhea. A prescription is required for it. I tried to change the food at about six or seven months, but as I transitioned to the new stuff, she got progressively more frequent – and loose. At one point she simply stopped eating it altogether. I guess she needs this icky, expensive food. I don’t like it, but she does, and it works better than anything else.

    1. They say the results, from Minnesota at least, may not be final until midday tomorrow. Whether you stay up or not I’m pretty sure the results will be the same.

  3. Also notable is the Alaska Senate race. The time zone means it may be awhile, but the early returns suggest Mary Peltola may get well over 50%, at which point the number of Dan Sullivans in the race becomes a completely moot point.

  4. At my precinct today, we were rather underresourced. We had enough election judges, but only three poll pads. My calculations indicated we checked in and/or registered a voter every two minutes on each of those three poll pads for thirteen hours straight.

Many voters had to stand in line, and it rained. I saw many voters with wet hoodies, and some ballots, after voters filled them in, were wet enough that they had to be dried before the ballot counter would accept them.

Maybe some of those voters will remember this experience and vote early in the future. I hope so.

  5. Well, a Blue Bath. And a MN woman governor! WaHooooooo. Lou’s cousin’s son is Iowa’s governor-elect. The Senator-elect there has an inspiring story. Wes, blue Ohio will be disorienting!
