Grocery Shopping
Husband and I are on the road today, driving to Newell, SD to get two lambs from the butcher shop. It is five hours round trip. It is a long way to go for groceries, but I really need the day off. and will enjoy the drive.
What is the farthest you ever traveled to buy something?
Another One Bites the Dust
The news is in. DNA scientists have tested the Yeti “relics” – samples that believers have kept over the centuries. All turned out to be some type of bear DNA (and one dog). So I’m thinking that Yetis are busted.
What’s your favorite mythical creature?
Cookie Central
It’s Cookie Central at our house this week. We started with the fussy ones: Frosted Sugar and Shortbread Cookie Sticks – to get them out of the way. They require frosting and sprinkles so take more time than others. Twelve more kinds to go. I even got YA onboard today!

Atlas Shrugged Off
I love my job but I realized as I was driving up my driveway tonight that I feel a big relief on Friday evenings; it’s almost as if I’ve had a weight lifted off me. I think this means my body somehow knows I’m inching closer to retirement.

Iguana Joe’s!
Found Iguana Joe’s on our first full night in Aruba. Close to the hotel and a few vegetarian options. After dinner YA chose a dish with Oreos in it for dessert; she thought it would be a pie with Oreos in the crust. Turned out to be deep-fried Oreos!
What dessert would be a pleasant surprise for you?
Sniff, Sniff
It doesn’t matter that I’ve seen Princess Bride many, many times. Doesn’t matter if I can practically quote the whole movie. Every single time Peter Falk (the grandfather) says “As you wish” to Fred Savage (the grandson) at the end, I tear up a bit. Sniff, sniff.
What movie makes you emotional?
Packing
We are traveling by van for the next 10 days. We are going to a play therapy conference in Minneapolis. As we can’t bear to let produce spoil, we are taking along our canning equipment, jars, rings, lids, and boxes of ripening tomatoes. We must be out of our minds.
